California housing market defies inventory as sales increase 1.3 percent from last year.

Regional Sales and Median Price
San Francisco Bay Area's median price of single family homes was $856,200 increasing 10.2 percent from last year. Sales in the Bay Area increased 6.5 percent from a year ago.
The median price in the Central Valley region increased 9.0 percent to $317,040. Sales existing single family homes in the region increased 4.6 percent from last year.
In Southern California the median price single family homes increased 7.7 percent from a year ago to $534,820 and sales increased by 5.8 percent from last year.
